June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month
Jun 16, 2026June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the abuse, neglect, and exploitation that affect older adults in our communities. To help shine a light on this important issue, the Randall E. Nichols Family Justice Center, District Attorney General Charme Allen, Knox County Clerk of Courts Mike Hammond, and members of the Elder Abuse Unit came together to show their commitment to protecting and supporting our senior population.
Elder abuse can happen to anyone and often goes unreported. By learning the warning signs and speaking up when concerns arise, we can help ensure older adults are treated with the dignity, respect, and care they deserve. If you or someone you know may be experiencing elder abuse, please visit us or call (865) 215-SAFE (7233). Help, support, and resources are available.
