Second Driver's License Reinstatement Fair Announced - June 15th

Knoxville, Tenn.- The Knox County Criminal Court Clerk’s Office, in partnership with Knoxville Municipal Court and the Department of Safety and Homeland Security, is hosting a Driver’s License Reinstatement Fair at the Knoxville City-County Building on Saturday, June 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

“We are thrilled to host another Driver’s License Reinstatement Event with Knoxville Municipal Court and the Department of Safety and Homeland Security to help members of our community get back on the road,” said Criminal Court Clerk Mike Hammond. “Having a driver’s license is critical for many people to get to work, go to school, or take care of their families, and that’s a challenge for many of our citizens because of their license status. This event is here to address that.”

Knoxville Municipal Court Judge Tyler Caviness said, “The partnership of the City, County, and State puts everyone in the same room so we can work together on addressing the barriers a person has to becoming a valid, licensed driver. This is the second time we have held this unique, collaborative event and we look forward to continuing to grow these efforts in the future.” Services offered at the fair provided by the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office, Knoxville Municipal Court, and the Department of Safety include:

  • Judicial Costs Review for County and City cases
  • Disposition Updates
  • Eye Exams
  • Written Driver’s Test
  • Road Test

Registration is required to attend, as spots are limited. Those who register will receive a requirement letter via email to satisfy any requirements not offered at the fair before attending. Attendees will receive their license at the fair if all requirements are completed before and during the event. Only individuals who pre-register will receive assistance at the fair.
